With a throbbing knee and feeling a bit out of it, James hobbled to the nearest bench and plopped down, not even realizing someone else was already there. All he did was groan, placing his face in his hands as he willed the world to stop tilting. The worst part was that he was dead sober. "Sorry," he mumbled to no one in particular, not even sure if anyone was even there to hear him.

"income and expense, oh how sexy," they joked. it was one of the only ways they could get through the reality of what was happening. forms and statements were all that remained of what had once been a happy marriage. now, their ex wife had already moved on and paige was left trying to justify their partnership, justify the time they had spent on her. all so they could what? not lose their possessions? the only redeeming part of this entire situation that they could think of was meeting elodie. "well that just means you have to come over for dinner. it's best served hot and fresh, you know? mm, not as much as i used to. when i was younger i cooked a lot with my grandmother. she taught me so many recipes. i used to make these big meals when i got my first apartment. all my loved ones jammed in there complimenting my food. it was wonderful. and then i kind of just stopped," they admitted with a shrug. of course it had a big part to do with their grandmother passing but they didn't feel like bringing the mood down in that moment. "so i think it's about time i began again. follow some recipes, get the swing of it again, you know? i'd like to have one of those dinner parties again one day. especially since i actually have the space now."

"next time, if you're so insistent, you maybe will get me to agree to being paid for." paige was great company, and elodie liked to flex her wallet when necessary. but for them, it wouldn't be twisting her arm to get her to agree. "don't worry, you don't have to work on it for our next meeting. it's some income and expense declarations, nothing too out of your wheelhouse. i just need them by the end of the month." she looked at paige with a look of admiration, glad to see they were able to find a way to get their mind off of thise whole situation. divorce wasn't easy for anybody, and could consume them if they let it. paige was a true champ. "if you make something good, i expect to get to try it, you know." she teased lightly, heels shining against the pavement. "more important to get that to me than any paperwork, in my opinion. do you cook often? or is this your first foray into it?"

The last time Kevin looked into any kinda politics was a while.. But he did remember a brief glance of Elodie on the tv next to Gian Maiden (thats what he thinks her name was, he was on a lot of pain medication).also being harrassed. The human didn't belive in being mean to others. So when he saw the other being hounded by a reporter he couldn't help but feel the need to protect her. He pushed himself in her direction between Elodie and the reporter. An unsual sharp look on his features.

"Give her a break will you. I'm sure she'll answer your questions if you just let her breathe." He turned to her with a look of concern. "Are you okay there?That guy was really persistent."

Exactly. I think what Brennan said in Adventuring Party was so important for understanding what the princesses' MO is and why they are putting so much effort into bringing about an end to all things.

Like he said, these princesses- especially Cinderella and Snow White- have already been through countless worlds and versions of their stories, all of which have likely been like paddling up a raging river with no paddle. They're on a relentless, scary fucking grind with no knowledge of the Lines Between, of the ideas of destiny being tied to one's books and that destiny is mutable through certain actions. All they know is the fairies want things back to the way they were and will stop at nothing to achieve that.

Operating with only those pieces of this puzzle, it's possible then to see how they came to the conclusion they did. And even now that they've acquired new information from Destiny's Children, it makes sense that their worldview might not radically change overnight and that they instead might only view this stuff about the books as a way to further bring about their already set upon path.

Saw two opposing takes on the Daughters of the Crown and both of them are pissing me off. Basically one saw the Princesses as solely horrible people and the other essentially excused their plans because they have trauma. Both are... yikes.

The Princesses are freaking doomers, particularly the ones in charge. This does not mean they are that way for no reason, but they still believe the world has no hope, at least with them in it. That is a form of nihilism that leaves a lot of things unchecked and actually does harm.

We see how Cinderella didn't even realize the Stepmother didn't even have a story. She has been making a lot of hard decisions without all the proper knowledge, but that's kinda the point. She's so consumed with hopelessness that it never even crossed her mind that her story might be even more tied to other people than she's aware.

The women are hurt, they are trying to do the right thing, and they have not been given the care they should have. But that doesn't give them the right to destroy every person tied to their stories just because they didn't like it. Wanting to do the right thing is not the same as doing the right thing. When you are so consumed with dread that you lose all hope it becomes even easier to be careless with others.

Brennan has talked about the antagonists this season being more complex, and the Daughters of the Crown are an example. It's easy to excuse their actions because of who they are. In my opinion that's why I love their characters so much.

She couldn't be compelled, she had much sure of that thanks to the vervain in her system, precautions taken due to being the assistant of the senator and she certainly had little doubts in her abilities as a witch, she'd have him floored in the time it took him to even twitch in her direction. "No, security isn't the right fit for her but I'm sure I could find something for her to do that would be beneficial to this campaign."

The confidence of the woman had Gianna written all over it and Klaus' jaw tightened imperceptibly as Elodie now made herself comfortable. His interest was piqued given her choice of words, but he wasn't about to reveal anything of use however. He did recognised her though, which made her own question all the more troublesome. "-- And what pray tell, would the witch of a senator want with a banshee?" Turning upon his heel, he gradually began to enclose their distance. "The girl hardly makes for sufficient security detail. I suggest that you find another."
